Our class contribution to the Southport High School Alumni Scholarship Fund has now continued for another year to provide a scholarship in 2021. This year's recipient is Aaryana Bratcher and she sent this note to our class:
"Hello, my name is Aaryana Bratcher. I am a senior at Southport High School, but soon I'll be a freshman at Ball State University! I am majoring in Business Management to be able to have my own business within the fashion industry. I am honored to be receiving an award that'll assist me in jump starting a new chapter in my life! Thank you, Aaryana Bratcher"

"Although it is becoming clearer and clearer that holding the SHSAA Scholarship Banquet this year will not be possible, we did want to share with you some exciting news. Because of your generous contributions, we are able to present 71 students with scholarships amounting to $78,200. Not only did this mark our first time giving more than $75,000 in a single year, it also marked our collective scholarship total of over a MILLION DOLLARS! Since 1991, you and only you, is what has made this monumental difference in these students' lives.
This year's recipient of the Class of 1969 Scholarship is Thang Sian. Congratulations!
These students were selected in March and the committee had to make adjustments by informing the scholarship winners by email earlier this month.... This year, your kind contribution will be needed more than ever by these students in the coming months; and even more appreciated."
